Creating and sharing of art...
"The creating and sharing of art in community should be one of the hallmarks of the church. These actions can become corporate practices that would not only illuminate the different ways we see God working in the world, but also exercise the rusty creative muscles of believers. Let’s strive to be more imaginative, inventive, and inspiring." - Redeemer Arts blog, Redeemer Church in New York City

"and she considered Him faithful who had promised..."
The author of Hebrew's describes Sarah of Genesis as one who considered God faithful to hold to His promises. I am a mess, prone to rebel and feed my own self-made gods. By His mercy, though, I want to be one who is marked by considering God has faithful who promised.
This morning I am reading Colossians 1-2, and struck by the same theme, as it is over and over in the Word...
"For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross...
...continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard...
..which is Christ in you, the hope of Glory...
...Let no one disqualify you, insisting on ascetisicm...and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God...
Holding fast, clinging to the Hope that we have in Christ- the One who is faithful and has promised something greater, Himself. This is the life of a believer.
Recently, in church, we have been going through Hebrews- talking over and over about what it means to have faith, holding fast to His promises, believing Him at His word and submitting our life to it. If you are interested in hearing great teaching on what it means to have faith,
I recommend last week's teaching at Park Church by Brian Brown. http://bbrown.typepad.com/park_church_media/

Where do we even begin...??
6 weeks. Not that long, right? Well, to us it seems it has been a year! So much has happened. We have been floored and surprised by God's mercy, faithfulness, and well, that He is just fun!
Drum roll please....WE ARE BUYING A HOUSE!! Among other things that have happened in the past few weeks, this is at the forefront. We want God to receive all the glory, for He has provided all of it. We are so excited to be settling into this city, investing in a neighborhood and the good of the community.
Here she is:
In the midst of signing, appraisals, inspections, and all the other house-buying activities, we have also had a great time on campus. Our last familia dinner, this time with a venezuelan theme, was a huge success. Our students continue to impress me as they discuss topics like trust & friendship. God is really working in their lives. We love hosting them, where ever we may be.
This is their hilarious attempt to invite students to dinner, in spanish! We are so thankful for all of you laboring alongside us in prayer for people to trust and live in Christ in Denver.
